    This is a very peaceful place – a home from home in a stunning location. We shall remember our short time here for a long time to come.

    Thank you, Croft 103 Hill House.

    We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the “cottage” is exceptional. We waited a long time to come and it has been worth the wait.
    Just a couple of notes, the fridge is VERY noisy at times, especially after being opened even if only for a short time. It gets annoying in the evening.
    Could do with a slotted spoon and a measuring jug for the kitchen.
    Maybe provide an extension lead? Or a portable mirror? We couldn’t find a socket anywhere near a mirror and hadn’t brought a mirror of our own.
    Picky perhaps but these tiny changes might make a difference for others?
    Will recommend Croft 103 to others.

    Could easily sit and enjoy the 180 degree view all day if there weren’t so many other things to do.

    Not sure about the lack of a privacy option in the bathroom or loo given the nearby public access to the loch shore. Could result in blushes on both sides of the glass.

    Thanks for laying on the otter show.

    We’ll be back.

    Croft103 has been the perfect bolthole in which to celebrate a big birthday. We have been blessed with wonderful weather and so the views and surrounding landscape have been just breathtaking every single day. This is truly somewhere to reflect and contemplate. We will leave here richer than when we arrived; this place has been good for the soul, the heart and spirit. Thank you

    Firstly, thank you Fiona and Rob. We have literally just settled down. Yogi loves this place as do we. It is fantastic as we can let Yogi out with the property being fully fenced in. This is massive for dog lovers and this ( please don’t take this the wrong way ) allows Rachel to relax and should be on your web site as ‘ well behaved single dogs welcome ‘ The views are amazing. Different picture, minute by minute. Thank you thank you. Just to make you ( hopefully ) laugh, we had had a long drive and both of us were really hungry when we arrived. Both of us without question had a cookie from the table. I didn’t say anything but Rachel said later ….. ‘Those biscuits were awful!’ We then realised they were for Yogi……….. We have survived since!!!!

    Came here for bobbys 50th birthday and what a wonderful place in which to celebrate. So relaxing and don’t think we would ever get fed up with the wonderful view. Heading home today with a heavy heart but will definitely be back. This is the perfect place for the mind, body and soul. Thank you Robbie and Fiona you have created a wonderful haven here.

    Dear Robbie and Fiona
    I think I said it all in person, but in brief again.. What you have created here leaves us running short of superlatives. The location, ethos, quality of the incredible place has no bounds.
    We hopefully will be back again soon.
    Best Wishes

    Amazing house with fantastic views. We have thoroughly enjoyed our week and our two golden retrievers, Harry and Dylan, just loved the freedom of the surroundings. The music system was superb once we mastered Spotify. Weather mixed, sometimes blue skies and sunshine, but fascinating to see the rain pulsing up along the loch. Spotted an otter just once on the shoreline on our first morning. Thanks for a great stay.

    Difficult to say what we liked best. For example the wonderful, very well equipped kitchen, the feeling living in a carbon-neutral house, the space, the view, the view, the view ….. And, of course, the great outdoors. Thanks a lot! We will come back as soon as possible.

    P.S.: The salmon and the scallops were fantastic!

    WOW just doesn’t do Hill Cottage justice. From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed and happy. Surrounded by the beauty of
    the Loch and the Luxury of Hill Cottage. We have seen most types of weather and it all adds to the experience of Croft103. We are sad to be leaving and could instantly retire here and just stay. Thank you for sourcing such wonderful meat & fish for us it was delicious. We hope to be back soon and for longer next time. Usually after a holiday you can’t wait to get home as you have missed many aspects of your own home, not this time. We now have a huge wish list of things we would like to replicate when we get back. We have stayed in the Maldives, Burj al Arab Dubai and many Villas across Europe. Croft103 has surpassed them all with it’s style, luxury, location, privacy & peacefulness. Thank you.

    We have loved being here…such a beautiful vista over Loch Eriboll, with the light and sky constantly changing. Not much sunshine, but not too much rain either!
    The croft is a comfortable, secluded oasis – thank you!
    The beaches along this coast are stunning, and the dog loves them too!

    Dear Fiona & Robbie. This place in reality beats the advert! A smashing architectured house on a fantastic spot of nature and the interior just at the most positive modern edge. All of this and details like the bath outside made for us a place we truly loved. Thanks for all your efforts making this happen! We wonder what a rurprise this place would be in wintertime

    Thank you for the best holiday ever! V warm welcome from Fiona on arrival after v long drive including parts of the NC500 route…(thank you for bottle of bubbly in the fridge) Croft 103/Shore Cottage is idyllic/perfect in every way – the setting, design, interior, eco aspects, views etc. We came prepared with thermals and rain gear but had the most amazing warm sunny weather almost all week – even if we hadn’t it would still have been perfect. Relaxing and chilled – love outdoor bath and concrete sofa. The area is also stunningly beautiful but hard to tear ourselves away from Croft 103! Even harder to return home tomorrow but cannot wait to return soon. H&E (thank you also for fresh fish and scallops mid-week, delicious)

    We believe the definition of the words, amazing, beautiful and relaxation, in the dictionary should just be changed to ‘Croft 103’. Everything has been perfect including the sunshine and blue skies. Would have loved to have seen a storm over the Loch but we can’t be too picky. Thank you Fiona and Robbie, don’t know how you have created such a place. We will definitely be back.

    Dear Robbie and Fiona,
    What can we say? Hill cottage is truly wonderful and it has been an amazing place to spend our honeymoon! We have experienced all types of Scottish weather whilst here, and our favourite has definitely been the storms (or gusts as Robbie called them!) coming through the Loch. In a blink of an eye, the landscape kept changing, making it a dream for a Crawford’s camera. It has been a great adventure and at times made us feel as if we were in Middle-earth!
    Thank you for being so welcoming and we can’t wait to return.
    Many thanks, and best wishes for the future.

    Fantastic cottage in the most beautiful surroundings. Came with 2 dogs who absolutely loved staying here and walks on the amazing local beaches. Could sit in front of the fire and watch the loch and its weather for the rest of my days. The most amazing place.

    Croft 103 is an amazing place to stay – we expected superb accommodation and fantastic views … our high expectations were exceeded!! Words will never do justice to the whole experience of staying here. Truly dog friendly accommodation is not easy to find and certainly not at this extremely high standard – our 2 Bearded Collies, Lexie and Strider, loved the freedom to run free in the secure grounds as well as on the stunning local beaches. We will be sorry to leave this very special place, but we have every intention of returning! Thank you so much, Fiona and Robbie, for your warm welcome and all your hard work in creating this unique experience. Staying here has given Sian a 50th birthday present that she will never forget!

    Simply wonderful. Beautiful location, lovely house, excellent walks. Lucky that we got some snow fall and to sit back and watch the storms along the loch. This is the place to come if you need a life reboot.

    Driving to your holiday rental is always full of anticipation. Well, Shore Croft did not disappoint- it exceeded all expectations. The position is stunning. It is like having your own 24/7 Country File with ever changing skies, sea and wildlife. The Croft is perfect in every way from an exceptionally comfortable bed to wonderful touches such as large, white fluffy towels and tasteful furnishings and fittings. Our two Labradoodles, Bertie and Arthur, have had a wonderful time too- they are exhausted from all their wonderful walks. We arrived tired and in need of a rest. Shore croft is an amazing place and we return to Hertfordshire with batteries recharged and many happy memories. A return visit is in the planning. Thank you Fiona and Robbie for your hospitality. You have created a truly magical place.

    This is our 2nd visit to Croft 103/Shore Cottage and well worth the 10 hour journey from the Yorkshire Dales. Scotland is a beautiful place and Durness and the surrounding areas are very special with Croft 103 making it even more special. We found it hard to leave on a beautiful sun rise morning but hopefully we will be back. Thank you to Fiona and Robbie for making a special place.

    Pure bliss!
    A heartfelt and huge “thank you” to you both, Robbie and Fiona, for creating such a wonderful place to which to escape.
    There are too many reasons to mention here that have made Shore Cottage such a special place to stay though amongst our highlights, have to be the wonderful tranquillity Croft 103 has given; the stunning and ever changing views; fabulous and long sleeps because of a massive, sumptuous bed and waking naturally as daylight poured through the vast windows; soothing bathing-both inside and out ( even in early January!); the warmth from the toasty log burning stove- perfect on our return from our long walks on the shore of Loch Eriboll, beaches and bike rides; exquisite furnishings- we especially loved the ironworks, the Caithness stone and Lotte’s tiles… we were blessed to meet Kenneth on one of our meanders and he kindly showed us her croft and gallery as well as inviting us into his home for a warming Yorkshire brew!
    And your ‘Grand Design’ is simply inspiring, a real credit to you both and a joy to have experienced living in!
    A 10/ 10 from us and we hope to return for longer, next time.
    A very few ‘even better ifs’ would be:
    – a couple of hooks near the outside bath to hang up robes and towels;
    – a ‘line in’ to the Sonos system to connect mobile devices into so playlists can be played without the need for wifi;
    – an arrival ‘pack’ with some tea and maybe some Scottish shortbread for weary travellers;
    – a note, perhaps in the lovely card, pointing guests to the iPad- we only discovered the useful info on it a day in to our stay!

    I have fallen in love twice in my life:first with my wife, second with Hill Cottage. Hill Cottage is a fantastic place. The kind of place that you love at once and that you never really leave because a part of you stays there. We have really enjoyed every minute of our stay. Thank you so much for this wonderful week.
